Presidential Air was euthanized Friday after breaking his left front cannon bone during an Opening Day race at the Del Mar Racetrack.
According to a racetrack official, the horse was in the middle of a race when he stumbled and fell, causing the break. Two veterinarians assessed the injury on the track, making the call to put the horse down due to the severity of the horse's condition.
