SAN DIEGO -- A father got quite a scare when he awoke to find a stranger in his daughter's room early Friday morning in Clairemont.

A couple and their 23-year-old daughter were asleep when the suspect broke in and wandered through the house in the 5100 block of Dawne Street at around 3 a.m. The father awoke and discovered the prowler entering his daughter’s room.

“For some odd reason, I woke up and I saw a silhouette,” the man told 10News. “I don't know if it was from the noise in the house, but I saw a silhouette go to the front of the bedroom door, and into my daughter's room.  And then I heard the glass break.”

The suspect jumped through the woman’s window, breaking the glass and ripping down the curtains. He then fled. The father told San Diego police he saw the man run down the street, jump in a car and drive away. However, he couldn’t get a specific description of the suspect.

Nothing was stolen from the house and no one was hurt. It was not immediately clear how the man got into to the home.
