CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A couple in Chula Vista was shocked Sunday morning when they walked in on an unknown man showering in their home.
The homeowner said the property has been empty for about three months after it had been put on sale.
He came by the home on the 900 block of Cuyamaca Ave around 10:20 a.m. to put some water in the pool. When he walked inside, he noticed a few things were out of place. The air-conditioning, which was supposed to be off, was left on. Several doors, which were normally left open, had been closed.
One of those was the bathroom door. The owner said when he approached the door he could hear the shower running. That's when he called police.
When authorities arrived, the man was still in the bathroom. He was taken into custody.
Police said they also recovered a meth pipe and burglary tools.
