(KGTV) The California Independent System Operator issued a statewide Flex Alert calling for electricity conservation during the heat wave Friday.
The ISO said forecasts project record demand load.
Consumers are encouraged to conserve power from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The ISO recommends steps for Californians:
- Turn off unnecessary lights
- Don't use major appliances
- Keep blinds or curtains closed
- Set air conditioning at 78 degrees or higher
