SAN DIEGO -- A man claims he came face-to-face with a brazen burglar trying to steal from his car outside his family’s Kearny Mesa apartment Tuesday.
Aaron Racher told 10News he caught the man stealing from his car Tuesday. He was able to snap a picture as the man was running away.
However, that was not the end of it. On Wednesday, he caught sight of the suspect sitting at some picnic tables across from his apartment. The suspect had gotten a haircut, Racher said.
"He got a fresh haircut because you could see the tan lines around his neck," Racher said.
Racher called 911, but San Diego police arrived too late. Racher had made his escape.
"A lot of nerve,” Racher told 10News. “He's a thief, lower than low. What goes around comes around, he'll be caught. He won't get away if I see him again. For sure."
There was no immediate word on whether police had identified the suspect. Racher told 10News his neighbors were discussing organizing a neighborhood watch to prevent further crime.
