SAN DIEGO -- Jody Taylor is warning neighbors in Normal Heights about a bizarre theft that happened in front of her home Friday night.

Taylor had just returned to her home on Mansfield Street from the grocery store at about 8:30 p.m. when she noticed her neighbor’s trash bin outside and decided to bring it in.

Taylor had dropped her grocery bag in front of her lawn, and she walked towards the trash bin, a man on a bike snatched the grocery bag and quickly rode away.

“You don't even think about it because you think people are outside, it didn't even cross my mind someone would steal our bag of groceries,” Taylor said said.

Taylor has lived in Normal Heights for about six years.

“Just to come on our private residence and steal our groceries, that's totally crossing a major boundary for me,” she said.

Taylor did not get a good description of the suspect.

“If someone will just walk right up to our driveway and take our groceries, what's next?”
