HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KGTV) - Pickpockets are using bird waste as a method to pickpocket from unsuspecting pedestrians in Hollywood, Los Angeles police said.
Officers sent out a plea Wednesday for the public's help to find the man and woman.
In one crime, the pair approached the victim, told him he had bird feces on him and offered to clean it. While wiping his back, the man removed the wallet from the victim's back pocket. The man and woman drove away, police said.
The man and woman distracted the victim and took the camera from his backpack in the second crime, according to the LAPD.
The suspects are in their late 30's and may be driving a silver Nissan Rogue with a paper license plate.
