A bizarre crash between a bicyclist and a three-wheeled bike called a 'Star Trike' left the bicyclist injured in Ocean Beach Monday night.
The crash happened at Sunset Cliffs Blvd. and Point Loma Ave.
Police said the man behind the wheel of the Star Trike is Loch David Crane, a man who has run for mayor of San Diego seven times.
"The guy just shot straight across the intersection at me, he must've thought he could pass through here but he had no lights and ran right into the front of me," said Crane.
Crane was not cited and the bicyclist is expected to be ok.
