Charli Loren, 28, is being hailed a hero after helping a woman who was brutally raped at knifepoint in Balboa Park Thursday.

“I judged the situation and she looked tattered,” said Loren. “A woman in distress, yeah, I'm going to stop, probably every time.”

Loren, who works for Domino's Pizza, said she had just finished her delivery when she saw the woman. She said she didn’t think twice to help.

“She had said, 'did you see that gentlemen, the man that ran by,' I said yeah, she said 'that man raped me,' so I pulled over and I put her in my car,” she said.

Loren said she even saw Ismael Hernandez, 27, who police said raped the woman, run away.

“I think he saw my sign and he started to cover up his face,” said Loren.

But all she could think about was helping the woman.

“Had I not had that delivery, had somebody else had that delivery, would they have stopped?” she asked.
