Mother's Day is one of the busiest holidays for florists across the country. But not all customers are satisfied when they get their flowers.
The Better Business Bureau received more than 3,900 complaints against florists in 2013. It said the majority of the complaints resulted from orders being late, wrong, or just never delivered.
The BBB has listed helpful tips to make sure you get your order on time and looking beautiful.
Research the florist first before making the order. Customers can check out a review and any complaints about the company on the BBB's website. Also ask a relative or a friend to recommend a shop.
You also want to make sure the florist has all your correct contact information in case there are specific instructions the driver needs to follow or if no one's home when the order is delivered.
Ask about guarantees. What's the refund policy if the order is late, damaged or never delivered?
Allow time for shipping and delivery. Make sure the date is specified and try ordering ahead of time so you'll save money and avoid having your order mixed up at the last minute.
And finally, have a back up plan. Find out how customer complaints are handled and what recourse will be taken if your not happy.
The BBB suggests to order with a credit card if you're buying online, this way the charge can be disputed if you are not satisfied.
