Major security changes being made at Disneyland

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Starting Thursday, Disneyland guests will find some changes in how they get through security on their way into the shops and theme park, officials said.

Disneyland officials will move west-side security screening areas from the Esplanade to three other places around the park.

One will be in Downtown Disney between the ESPN Zone and the Earl of Sandwich restaurants, another will be between the ESPN Zone and the Rainforest Cafe, and the third will be at the Mickey and Friends parking structure.

This ensures that guests will only have to go through security once and once they are on property they won't have to pass through another screening again, officials said.

"We are moving the location of our bag check and metal detectors to the point where guests enter our property through Downtown Disney and the Mickey & Friends parking structure," a Disneyland spokeswoman said.
