SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ever wondered what happened to longtime 10News anchor Carol LeBeau?

After 29 years on the air at 10News, she’s enjoying her retirement.

Carol’s first day at the 10News studios was in March 1981. She became half of the nation’s first all-female anchor team with Bree Walker. In 1987, current 10News anchor Kimberly Hunt joined Carol on the set.

"We spent nearly 20 years together...we can finish each other's sentences," says LeBeau. "This is a great place to work. It was great people, good journalists."

The former Coronado resident now lives with her husband Tom in Charleston, West Virginia.

Aside from her friends and 10News colleagues, Carol says she misses the ocean most of all. Carol, who was a competitive swimmer when she lived in San Diego County, is still winning races for her age group.
