Teen stabbed in Spring Valley succumbs to injury

A teenager stabbed in Spring Valley has died from his injuries, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department announced Monday.

The county Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined that Jeffrey Quirino's death was a homicide, said Lt. Kenneth Nelson of the Sheriff's Department.

On May 23, 17-year-old Quirino was stabbed on the sidewalk in front of a residence on the 8000 block of Delrose Avenue in Spring Valley.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the area around 4:30 p.m. in regard to a reported fight. When they arrived, they discovered that someone had taken Quirino to a hospital.
