Mystery odor forces evacuation of La Mesa medical office

LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A medical office building in La Mesa has been evacuated after numerous people complained of a foul odor.

The incident was reported shortly before 9 a.m. at the Kaiser Permanente medical office in the 3800 block of Avocado Boulevard.

10News learned people began noticing a strange smell, with some so overcome by the power of the odor they needed treatment.

The office was evacuated and several people were treated outside.

Authorities are trying to determine if the smell is from sewage or via a natural gas leak.
