LA MESA, Calif. - A La Mesa man is out of business after someone stole his truck that was parked right outside of his home.

Tony Lawrence's truck contained all of the tools he needs for his pool maintenance business.

"I kind of lost my 'look-we've-lived-here-20-years-nothing-ever-happened.' I lost that trump card Saturday night," said Lawrence.

That's when someone first broke into his truck but didn't take anything. Lawrence and his wife made a point of locking the truck every night after that, but it didn't matter. Someone stole the truck Tuesday night.

"I felt like man, our bubble has burst now," said Lawrence. "This is where we live. This is where our kids go out and play."

Lawrence said nothing like this has happened in the 20 years he lived in his La Mesa house.

He got a call Wednesday from someone who found the magnetic signs attached to his truck.

"There's three here. There's four on the truck. I'm hoping they didn't notice the other one and it's still there and hopefully somebody will see it," Lawrence said.

Lawrence said he expected his business to be OK because his customers are loyal.
