SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department identified Monday a man who was shot and killed in Logan Heights.

Police said they received a 911 call just before midnight on Saturday, June 24, regarding a shooting at South 31st Street and Martin Avenue.

The first officers at the scene found 34-year-old Jose Lopez, Sr., lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics took him to UCSD Medical Center, where he died.

According to police, Lopez was walking on South 31st Street when a vehicle stopped in the intersection.  A passenger got out of the car and shot Lopez, then got back in the car and drove off.

Police said the car was a dark-colored, two-door sedan with tinted windows.
