The following is a partial timeline of events as told by witness Bryan Fields during part of his testimony given on April 13 during the murder trial of Roderick Lamar Harris, accused of killing his girlfriend in front of her five-year-old son and 11-month old baby.

Fields lived across from Vaness Bobo, the victim, in a Lake Murray apartment complex.

-Bobo moves in a few months before the incident.

-Heard yelling and a party two weeks prior to the incident. She yelled to someone to get out and then thinks he saw them walking and coming back in together.

Night of fatal shooting:

October 12 at midnight, Field reports he went to the living room to watch television and heard a yell for help and a woman's voice screaming. He was unsure whether it was coming fron the front or the back. He determines screams were coming from back patio.

He sees Vaness from his patio looking through to her patio. She was on the patio with Harris. He was standing at the front "directing her back in."

He then grabs her arm and said "Get back in the [expletive] house."

Fields said "She was hysterical... It looked like she had tears in her eyes. She was shaking."

Fields said Harris pulled her into the room but she resisted. Fields said Bobo said "Just [expletive] shoot me."

Fields said that Harris closed the blinds and he could not see but thought maybe the argument was over so he went back to watching television.

Fields said he checked on his daughter. Two or three minutes later he hears another argument and three loud bangs, which he recognized as gunfire.

Fields then called the police and heard a door slam and saw Harris get into a Nissan Maxima.
