SAN DIEGO – Police are investigating a rash of broken car windows that occurred early Monday morning in Ocean Beach.

At least 10 vehicles had their windows smashed in, in the early morning hours on Coronado Avenue, a normally quiet street that is away from tourists.

“There was glass everywhere, pretty much all up and down this street,” said Jamie Capps, whose husband’s vehicle was hit.

“When my husband was getting in the car for school, and our neighbor came out right here and said her car window was broken and she wanted to check on ours and, of course, ours was too,” Capps said.

“So, I just kept walking up and down this street, and I probably saw 10 to 15 cars that were vandalized,” Jamie Capps said.

Neighbors think it was someone walking or riding a skateboard

“Definitely not driving, because he hit a lot of cars,” Capps said.

San Diego police are looking for the vandal.

“The area is just getting worse and worse and it’s sad and we need to do something about it,” Capps said.
