SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- - A Scripps Ranch couple watched live as two men burglarized their home Tuesday.
Bob Arban installed a security system in his home three weeks ago. He says he and his girlfriend, Andrea Brundage, were driving up Interstate 15 when his phone buzzed.
The security system notified him that there was movement on his porch and in the house and when he pulled up his security video and saw two men ransacking the place.
“We felt violated because somebody was in the house that shouldn’t have been there,” he said.
The couple called 911 and a friend who lives nearby.
“(They) discovered two guys that were coming down the side of the house with bags and scared them to where they ran behind the house and jumped the fence on the other side of the house to get away,” Arban said.
He hopes the getaway is short-lived, since they have such clear surveillance video.
“We’ve been trying to process it," Arban said. "It’s been very stressful and upsetting to know that someone broke into your house and took your stuff.”
Another neighbor says the same men knocked on her door five minutes before they broke into Arban's home.
