(KGTV) - The wreckage of a car that may belong to a missing San Diego couple was discovered in the Kings River, Fresno County Sheriff's deputies said Tuesday.

A relative reported Yinan Wang and his wife Jie Song missing on August 11, after the couple failed to return from a trip.

Wang and Song were driving a white Ford Focus.

Monday, Fresno County deputies found wreckage of a white car down a canyon where a red car containing two Thai students crashed in July.

Deputies said the white car is deeply submerged and they can't confirm it belonged to Wang and Song.

Investigators said the recovery process for both cars, and possibly four victims, could last weeks because of conditions in the Kings River. The water is unusually high and fast because of heavy rains during the winter months.

The family of the Thai students identified them as 24-year-old Thiwadee Saengsuriyarit and 28-year-old Pakkapol Chairattanasongporn.

Family members took flowers to the Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims and her deputies Monday to show appreciation for their recovery efforts.
