SAN DIEGO -- A masked man armed with a sledgehammer robbed an auto parts store in Mira Mesa, authorities said.
The suspect walked up to an employee outside of the Auto Zone on Mira Mesa Boulevard near Black Mountain Road around 11:15 p.m. Monday, and the two went inside the store, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The robber pretended to have a gun and demanded cash from two other workers, according to the officer. He fled with an undisclosed amount.
Police said the suspect was wearing a black mask that was similar to one used in the movie "Scream," a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
