Lake Murray shooting victim Vanessa Bobo remembered as great athlete, friend

Family members and friends described Vanessa Bobo as a great athlete, sister and friend.

Police said Bobo was shot to death early Wednesday morning at her Lake Murray home. She was 29 years old.

A GoFundMe account was established to help support efforts for a proper burial for Bobo, who was born in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Bobo was the first in her family to attend a 4-year college/university when she received a full track and field scholarship to Cal State Los Angeles.

"Vanessa leaves behind 2 beautiful sons 5yr old Bruce Tone III and 11month Old Brady Gatlin Harris, three sisters Latoiya Robinson, and Twin sisters Brandi Baker & Beverly PridgenHoward, and is survived by both parents Brady and Maria Bobo. Her grandmother(Lola) Emilia Dejesus and a host of extended family and Close friends.

We love you Vanessa you will forever be missed

On behalf of the Bobo Familly we wish to extend our gratitude and appreciations to those who have been calling and reaching out to the family during this period of grief. The loss of my Older sister Vanessa, there arent words to describe what we are going through and we appreciate all who can help. We are currently in need of funds to support a proper burial and home going for Vanessa.
