SAN DIEGO - A San Diego Gas & Electric outage Tuesday afternoon left more than 3,000 residents in the College Area without power for several hours.
Just before 1 p.m., SDG&E reported the following areas near San Diego State University were without power: Kensington, Talmadge, City Heights, Chollas Creek and Oak Park.
Streetlights were also out during the outage, causing more traffic than normal near the busy campus.
Shortly before 4 p.m., a majority of customers had power restored, leaving just over 150 customers without power until the estimated restoration time of 8 p.m.
SDG&E’s website stated a combination of factors caused the problem but the company did not state exactly what those factors were.
