Pro Treatment: University City senior gets second chance at a scholarship

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It's hard for a high school football player to get noticed by big-time college recruiters. It's even harder to do it twice.

That's the goal for University City senior Tiago Quants, as 10News gives the Centurions the Pro Treatment this week.

An athletic and talented wide receiver and defensive back, Quants was drawing quite a bit of interest from college coaches until the unthinkable happened.

"I tore my ACL and meniscus," Quants told 10News. "I had to have full reconstructive surgery."

The calls and letters stopped coming.

"It did kind of put a bump in the whole process of recruiting."

Now, Quants is back on the field for his senior season, and determined to prove to college coaches that he's still a prime prospect.

"I'm sure hoping D-1 (NCAA Divison I), that's what I'm shooting for."
