Football and cheer team needs money Chargers once provided

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Young athletes left in the lurch by the Chargers' exit from San Diego need your help.

The Challenger Football and Cheer Team is made of special needs children who are largely in foster care.

The team needs to raise money for games and uniforms.

In the past, the Chargers provided uniforms for the team but that's no longer the case now that the team is in Los Angeles.

The Challenger Golf Tournament will be held October 8 at MCAS Miramar Memorial Golf Tournament. Fees are $125 per person or $400 for a foursome. The donation includes green fees, cart, and lunch. For information, contact Diana Dahlstrom at or call 760-855-1507.

Anyone who would like to help the team can donate to its GoFundMe page.
