San Diego has great people, awesome weather and now its own official craft beer.
The San Diego Tourism Authority teamed up with Bay City Brewing Co. to create the specialty beer "72 and Hoppy," making San Diego the first U.S. travel destination with an official beer.
Tourism officials describe San Diego's official craft beer this way: "Relaxed and refreshing -- but vibrant and full of flavor – '72 and Hoppy' is a session IPA that captures the spirit of San Diego in a pint glass."
Officials will make the craft beer announcement Tuesday.
72 and Hoppy will soon be available at local bars, restaurants, hotels and other attractions.
San Diego has more operating breweries than any other region in the country, tourism officials said, citing a Cushman and Wakefield study.
