MISSION VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - One man is dead after his vehicle collided with an SUV either abandoned or left disabled on the highway.
The County Medical Examiner said Gregory Lawrence Scott, 40, from Spring Valley, was the only occupant of a compact vehicle that collided with the empty SUV on southbound Interstate 15 just north of Friars Road early Saturday.
Emergency crews pronounced Scott dead at the scene.
It's unclear whether the SUV was abandoned or disabled in the number three lane.
All lanes on southbound I-15 at Friars Rd. were closed for much of the morning before being reopened just after 6 a.m., according to Caltrans San Diego.
