SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Customers inside a Santee warehouse store had to be evacuated after someone reportedly released a can of bear spray.

According to deputies, the incident happened inside GTM on the 8000 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard.

Deputies believe a customer set off the bear spray, also known as pepper spray, inside the store, affecting up to 11 people.

Employees at the store were able to evacuate customers, who were treated outside. None of those affected needed to be taken to the hospital.

The store reopened after being aired out for a little while.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is reviewing security tapes to figure out what exactly happened.
