Thanksgiving donations for San Diego Rescue Mission
-- The San Diego Rescue Mission is hoping to provide nearly 40,000 meals to hungry San Diegans by Thanksgiving.

San Diego Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner, Nov. 23
-- The San Diego Salvation Army's 34th annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at Golden Hall (202 W. C St.) from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Christmas on the Prado, Nov. 25
-- The annual Christmas on the Prado event at the Spreckles Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park will benefit Toys for Tots and local families. Bring an unwrapped toy to the event between 2 p.m.-9 p.m.

-- Local nonprofit Father Joe's Villages is encouraging you to get involved on #GivingTuesday.

Miles for Meals 5K, Dec. 10
-- Money raised for this race in the Gaslamp Quarter will go towards Feeding San Diego, whose goal is to raise $5,000 to provide meals for local families in need.

-- San Diego's new annual blood drive will help patients in need in our community. The event at the Town & Country Resort (500 Hotel Circle North) will feature many prominent members of the community, including athletes and local company representatives.
