SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hot enough for you? San Diegans are turning to creative ways to stay cool during the heat wave.

Whether you're enjoying air conditioning or ocean breezes, our list has an option that will get your family out of the overheated house.

GO SHOPPING

While many San Diego malls are outdoors, you have four indoor options where you can enjoy air conditioning and shade. Parkway Plaza, Westfield North County, Westfield Plaza Bonita, and Westfield Carlsbad are open late enough to keep you cool past sunset.

EAT COOL, BE COOL

Ice cream and shave ice have an exponential increase in their deliciousness when it gets hot outside. 10News found top local spots for both types of treats!  Find our favorite independent shops .

VISIT A MUSEUM

Get your mind off the heat at one of San Diego’s museums. If you visit Balboa Park, don't forget your hat for that stroll along the Plaza de Panama. You can also opt for the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, which has cool ocean breezes, or the air conditioned New Children's Museum downtown.

JUMP AROUND

Young children may have too much energy to stay cooped up inside - how about an indoor gym or trampoline park ? By the time you get the kids home, they’ll be too tired to notice the heat.

DONKEY KONG, ANYONE?

Arcades are good for more than just video games! Some San Diego locations also have laser tag, mini golf, go-karts and bars. (Note: kids of all ages accepted.)  Find an arcade near you .

MAKE A SPLASH!
