Do you ever have the sudden urge to watch a certain movie and you want to see it RIGHT NOW? Movielink.com might be the Web site you have been looking for.

While Netflix is cheap and convenient for someone who likes to watch a lot of movies, you may not want to wait three days until it shows up in your mailbox to watch “The Jerk.”

So, you climb in your car, drive to the local video store, walk up and down the aisles searching, and … “The Jerk” has been rented by someone else.

Aside from driving all over to every video store in town, you may have to settle for “L.A. Story” if you want to get your Steve Martin fix that night.

Movielink.com lets you download tons of movies from the Internet and watch them on your PC, laptop or TV in a manner of minutes. With Movielink, you no longer have to wait eight days for some jerk to return “The Jerk” to your local video store.

The selections are not unlimited and Movielink isn’t going to have every movie you can think of, but it will at least save you the time, energy and gas it takes to drive to the video store. There’s also none of those annoying and sometimes expensive late fees that can be applied if you forget to return a video on time.

Also, there’s no need to worry about the legality of downloading the movies, because Movielink is a joint venture from five of the major Hollywood studios -- MGM, Paramount, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros.

There is also a helpful search engine that lets you search by genre, title, actor or director. So, if you want to fully satisfy your Steve Martin fix, just type in his name and every movie he stars in that is available for purchase or rental will pop up.

Prices start at $1.99 per movie, and there are no subscription fees. You are allowed to store a rented movie for up to 30 days and can view it as many times as you like for 24 hours once you start playback.

Not too Web savvy? No need to worry. With your first download, you will also get the Movielink Manager, a free program that helps you manage and view your movies.
