SAN DIEGO - A woman tells 10News she believes she could have been the next victim of a suspect in an ongoing rape investigation.
Victoria Kinney never went out on a date with 37-year-old Sean Banks, but she claims Banks threatened her and warned her not to talk to police.
Banks is accused of raping a La Mesa woman he met through the Christian dating website ChristianMingle.com. Kinney said she met Banks through the same website.
Kinney told 10News, "The initial impression I had of him was that he was very smart, very eloquent, very well-traveled, well-read, well-spoken. He seemed like a good, strong, Christian man."
Kinney, who is Miss Newport Beach, said she delayed her date with Banks due to other commitments. However, days after Banks bailed out of jail, Kinney said he called her.
"After he was arrested, he did reach out to me in an attempt to intimidate me, saying intimidating things," said Kinney.
She claims he told her not to talk to police, but that's exactly what she did.
"I started crying hysterically because I realized how close to something horrible that I had come," Kinney told 10News.
On Friday, two new charges were filed against Banks -- one charge of dissuading a witness and one charge of rape of an intoxicated person involving a woman authorities said he met on Match.com four years ago.
Banks was taken back into custody.
"He feels horrible, obviously about this change in circumstances. He wants to defend against these charges," said Gretchen von Helms, Banks' attorney.
von Helms said the evidence will free her client, but Kinney's attorney, Dan Gilleon, said he's glad the Banks has been taken off the streets.
"There's no doubt in my mind that she (Kinney) was going to be his next victim," said Gilleon.
Kinney said she hopes other women will learn from what nearly happened to her. She also said she is done with online dating.
"Women need to be aware that even if someone looks safe and nice and Christian and spiritual, they might be a predator," Kinney said.
Banks is being held without bail until at least next Wednesday, when a bail review hearing has been scheduled.
