RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Riverside County firefighters say evacuations are under way as a fast-moving blaze near a number of homes and buildings continues to grow in Rancho Jurupa Regional Park.

Fire spokeswoman Jody Hageman says homes along Greenbrier Drive and Rio Rancho Way in the city of Riverside are being asked to evacuate as Thursday night's fire comes under 20 percent containment.

About 200 firefighters, a helicopter and other equipment have been dispatched to the fire that is sending up huge billows of smoke that are visible throughout the region.

No time estimate is available for the fire's containment.

Though winds are currently calm, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for gusty offshore winds in Riverside County valleys, which could fan flames. The advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. Saturday.
