LA MESA, Calif. - A husband and wife who were training to do tandem bike rides are pleading to get their bike back after it was stolen this weekend.
Harry deRochemont showed 10News where the bike was parked at their La Mesa apartment.
His wife, Nicole, is blind and the bike was given to them as a gift three weeks ago so they could train as a team to ride in fundraisers.
They say the bike has sentimental value.
"For a very worthy cause ... please return this bicycle," DeRochemont said. "No questions asked whatsoever … just please return the bicycle to us. It's broken my wife's heart."
He and his wife are part of a San Diego-based group called the Blind Stokers Club that helps blind people ride.
The couple created a post with more information on the bike on the website Stolen911.com.
