Arson suspected in 4 Vista car fires

VISTA - Investigators believe arson was responsible for four cars that were set ablaze in the span of one hour early Sunday morning in the North County city of Vista.

The fires were first reported at about 1 a.m. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Vista Station, the burning cars were found blocks apart at two locations; the intersection of North Santa Fe and West Connecticut avenues, and near a tire store at 826 N. Santa Fe Ave.

There were no injuries. Rancho Santa Fe Fire District crews responded and extinguished the flames before they spread. The vehicles sustained various levels of damage.

All the fires were believed to be related.

Sheriff’s department arson investigators were on scene. They did not confirm if any suspects had been identified.
