SAN DIEGO - The 10News Pinpoint Weather Team says gusty winds are expected Thursday in San Diego County's mountains and valleys.
Weathercaster Robert Santos said a wind advisory is scheduled to remain in effect until noon Friday in the valleys and mountains, where winds of 20-30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph are possible.
According to the advisory, surface high pressure over the Great Basin will bring periods of gusty northeast to east winds near the coastal foothills into early Thursday afternoon. Winds were forecast to decrease slightly but continue into Friday morning, especially for San Diego County.

The strongest gusts are expected through Thursday morning, and again Friday morning, near mountain ridge tops and along coastal mountain slopes into the inland valleys.
Santos cautioned that the wind could break tree limbs and make driving difficult, especially for motorists in high-profile vehicles. Drivers were advised to use extra caution.
