High Temperatures Shatter Records Across San Diego

SAN DIEGO -- Four areas of San Diego County set high temperature records Sunday, and four also set records for the highest low temperature, according to the National Weather Service.El Cajon heated up to 99 degrees, tying the record set in 2004.Oceanside reached 84 degrees, beating the record of 83 set in 2004.San Diego had a high of 94, besting the record of 87 set in 1986.And the high in Vista was 98, beating the record of 95 set in 2004.Two of those communities also set records for the highest low temperature. The overnight low in Oceanside was 72, clobbering the record of 61 set in 1996, and the overnight low in San Diego was 64, beating the record of 62 set in 1992.In addition, the overnight low in Campo was 50, beating the record of 46 set in 1996, and Elsinore tied the record of 55 set in 2000.The weather is expected to start cooling down Monday and Tuesday.
