(Sports Network) - Fifth-seeded Swiss Patty Schnyder was an easy first-round winner Monday at the $650,000 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Schnyder blew past American Chanda Rubin 6-2, 6-2 at Porsche Arena.

Another first-round win came for Dutchwoman Michaella Krajicek, who snuck past Aussie Samantha Stosur 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 6-1. Krajicek is rewarded with a second-round match against top-seeded Wimbledon, Australian Open and WTA Championships titlist Amelie Mauresmo.
