POSTED: 10:11 pm PDT September 9, 2006

(Sports Network) - The legendary Martina Navratilova rode off into the sunset in her final match as a professional Saturday night, teaming with American Bob Bryan to win the mixed doubles title at the U.S. Open.

Navratilova, who will turn 50 in October, retired from tennis for the second time following the match. She and Bryan beat the Czech duo of Kueta Peschke and Martin Damm 6-2, 6-3.

It marked Navratilova's 59th career Grand Slam title. She won a record 167 singles titles during her illustrious career. Included in that is four U.S. Open singles titles and 18 Grand Slam singles crowns.

Her first time in retirement came from 1997-99, but Navratilova returned in 2000 to play doubles.

Navratilova, who was ranked No. 1 in the world for 331 weeks, will be inducted into the Court of Champions on Sunday in a ceremony prior to the men's final between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick.
