The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency announced 19 new confirmed swine flu cases in the county, 10News reported.

The HHSA said the total number of confirmed cases is now up to 51.

The 19 cases were moved from the probable list to the confirmed list, the HHSA said.

Additionally, the number of local Navy cases increased to 18, according to U.S. Navy officials.

A Navy spokesman said all but one of the 18 infected sailors are in the San Diego area.

They include one at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, one at Naval Base San Diego, two at Naval Air Station North Island and one at the Naval Special Warfare Center. There is one Virginia case -- a sailor at the Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine unit at Norfolk.

According to Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county public health officer, people who are sick should stay home from work and school and should not travel.

People should also cover their mouths when coughing, sneezing or blowing their nose and wash their hands frequently, Wooten said.

The HHSA also announced there will be no more weekend updates on swine flu cases. An update will not be given until Monday.
