POSITION: Web News Editor

JOB DESCRIPTION: KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego, is looking for a driven and talented Web News Editor. This hybrid position is primarily responsible for posting and editing text for our Web site, 10News.com, consistent with AP copy style guidelines but will also write broadcast news stories for our newscasts on ABC10. We are looking for an upbeat self-starter who can recognize and react appropriately to a breaking news event, assemble stories and deliver text, images and video quickly, accurately and in a compelling manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor degree in journalism or related field preferred

Experience in a news organization & proficiency with AP style required

Familiarity with image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Elements and comfortable using a content management system required

Experience with HTML or other coding languages a plus

Ability to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays required
