Date: November 6, 2008Position: Investigative ReporterDescription: KGTV, San Diego's ABC affiliate, is looking for an aggressive investigative reporter to join its I-team. This position is part of a highly successful, long running, award-winning investigative unit. We have all the resources you’ll need to break big stories. You will be working with our I-team’s managing editor, producers and photojournalists to break those big stories. Source development is a must. In addition to longer term projects, you will also be expected to produce quick turn stories when required by breaking news events. You will also be expected to provide content for our internet operations. Multi-tasking skills are a must. Work hours are long and shifts vary due to the subject matter you will be developing.
Requirements: Minimum of five years reporting experience, with two or more in investigative reporting, in a TV newsroom required. Superb writing skills, aggressive reporting skills, impeccable record of working along commonly held journalistic ethics and knowledge of current media law required. Candidate must tell excellent stories that connect with the viewer, be a creative storyteller able to breakdown complicated information and details into easily understood stories, be able to work multiple complex stories at the same time juggling each through to completion for broadcast. Must be a team player, willing to do what it takes to expose wrongdoing and public corruption and lookout for the little guy.
