TITLE OF POSITION: Broadcast Maintenance EngineerKGTV is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of major market studio broadcast experience.The ideal candidate for this position should be a problem solver who will be responsible for both corrective and scheduled preventive maintenance on television equipment. Knowledge of non-linear editing systems, broadcast automation systems, video and audio routers, RF, ENG systems and have thorough understanding of signal flow within the plant. Strong PC and troubleshooting skills required. SBE certification is a plus, but not required. This is a NABET-CWA represented position. DUTIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Repair and maintenance of audio and video equipment both at the TV station and out in the field. Support all television related IT systems connected to the Station LAN. Install, configure and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, routers, switches, and printers within the broadcast environment. Design engineering and maintenance of communication links that include RF, Ethernet, and Broadband is required. Maintenance of RF links to and from remote sites in addition to deploying all new installations. Duties may include maintenance of the station’s existing analog and HD transmitters.REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the broadcast television industry is required and must include solid experience/knowledge in SDTV (analog and digital) HDTV standards and web casting. Strong computer skills are a must. Must have a working knowledge of RF theory and have strong troubleshooting skills. Candidate must be highly motivated and passionate about the TV Broadcast industry. Desired degrees or certifications: Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, MCSE, CCNA, Comp TIA., SBE certification, General Class FCC license and other related certifications or degrees will be considered.This is a 24/7 operation.
