U.S. to play Mexico in World Baseball Classic

PHOENIX - The U.S. team has its first World Baseball Classic game Friday evening in Phoenix.
The Joe Torre-managed club is facing Mexico. The U.S. is playing in Group D, which consists of the Americans, Mexicans, Italians and Canadians.
Mexico was upset by Italy in their opening game 6-5.
R.A. Dickey gets the call Friday night to start for the Americans.
A 20-game winner for the Mets last season, Dickey now pitches for the Blue Jays.
The U.S. lost two players this week to injury, Cleveland closer Chris Perez and Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira.
