San Diego State baseball heads to NCAA Regional in Long Beach

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego State's baseball team will open NCAA Regional play at Long Beach State on Friday.

The Aztecs, with their win over Fresno State in the Mountain West Conference tournament championship game on Sunday, earned their fourth trip to the NCAA Baseball Tournament in five years.

As the fourth seed, the Aztecs will take on top-seed Long Beach State on Friday at 8 p.m. The game preceding the Aztecs-Dirtbags matchup pits second seed Texas against third-seeded UCLA.

NCAA Regional play is a double-elimination format, and the winner of the Regional advances to the Super Regional to face the winner of the Stanford Regional.
