Aztecs beat 2 ranked teams this weekend in Anaheim

The San Diego State Aztecs entered the AP's Top 25 college basketball poll for the first time this season, thanks to back-to-back wins over ranked opponents over the weekend.

The poll, released Monday, has the 5-1 Aztecs ranked No. 24 in the nation.

On Sunday, the Aztecs defeated No. 25 Marquette 67-59 in the championship game of the Wooden Legacy tournament in Anaheim. SDSU upset No. 20 Creighton 86-80 the night before.

Michigan State sits atop this week's poll, with Arizona, Kentucky, Syracuse and Ohio State rounding out the top 5.

Villanova skyrocketed from being unranked to No. 14 after wins over Kansas and Iowa in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
