Pro Treatment: La Jolla High vs. Hilltop High

LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - Hilltop High School capped the week as our 10News Pro Treatment team with a 24-14 win Friday night over La Jolla High School.

The Lancers jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a rushing touchdown by Jeremiah Rivera and a 1-yard sneak at the goal line by quarterback Daniel McPherren.

La Jolla rallied to tie the game 14-14 by the end of the 3rd quarter, but Hilltop answered the charge in the final period, outscoring the Vikings 10-0.

Rivera capped the scoring with a tackle-breaking 55-yard touchdown run.

"That was the most stressful game I've ever been part of," said Lancers second-year head coach Drew Westling.

The season opener was played at Sweetwater Union High School in National City because Hilltop's football field is currently undergoing renovations.
