Padres All-Star Game representative Wil Myers will be one of eight contestants in Monday night's home run derby in San Diego, Major League Baseball announced.

Myers, who was the National League Player of the Month in June, is tied for 16th in the majors in homers with 19, but 11 came last month.

The home run derby has become a tradition the night before the All-Star Game, which will be played Tuesday at Petco Park. Last year's winner, Todd Frazier of the Chicago White Sox, will get a chance to defend his crown.

Frazier has 23 home runs so far this season.

Other contestants will be Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners (20 HR); Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers (17 HR); Mark Trumbo, Baltimore Orioles (MLB-leading 26 HR); Adam Duvall, Cincinnati Reds (22 HR); Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies (18 HR); and Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins (19 HR).
