Padres reliever Brad Hand named to 2017 National League All-Star team

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Padres relief pitcher Brad Hand will be the team's lone representative at this season's MLB All-Star Game.

Hand leads the Padres with 39 appearances, coming out of the bullpen to record 53 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched. The 27-year-old southpaw has a 1-4 record with 2 saves and a 2.47 ERA.

The July 11 All-Star Game will be hosted by the Miami Marlins, who was drafted Hand 2008 and released him after spring training in 2016.
