NEW YORK - With baseball's trade deadline passed and the playoff races intensifying, pressure is growing to get drug suspensions over with before the postseason.
A person familiar with the process tells The Associated Press that Major League Baseball is prepared to issue two simultaneous announcements no later than Monday.
One would list players who accept suspensions, with the other naming those disciplined without deals. Yankees' star Alex Rodriguez is among 14 players expected to get lengthy bans. San Diego Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera has also been implicated in the scandal.
Rodriguez's team the New York Yankees will be playing the Padres at Petco Park for the first time Friday.
